need help with IDLE - python 2.4.1 on fedora core 3


ok im a newb, nuff said, anways i tried to install python 2.4.1 on Fedora core 3.
i ran as root, did ./configure then make then make install. so python runs fine, however when i try to run IDLE i get this " ** IDLE can't import Tkinter. Your Python may not be configured for Tk. ** " ..and ie looked throgh the readme, and several sites no no avail.
