Need Help Remounting the Fedora 17 Partition on Western Digital hdd

This is my first post to this forum, well, acutally any forum...so, please forgive an faux pas I make.

I have Fedora 17 installed on an external hdd, and it has been running for a few months without incident until today.

Grub seems to load fine, yet the OS will not boot up. According to BCDEasy and Windows Disk Management, the disk is unmounted. I'm not sure how that could have happened. The only thing that has changed in the past couple of days is I d/l'd a driver for a printer. The problem didn't start until after I shutdown and attempted to boot up.

I've checked a number of forums for ideas on how to fix, but no solution has worked. Please help. All my schoolwork is on that partition.

Welcome to LinuxQuestions.

What are the error messages if any when the OS attempts to boot up. You can use the installation disk to boot into rescue mode which will mount and or repair if necessary the OS partitions. If it does mount successfully you should be able to backup your schoolwork.
