I'm running Fedora Core 4 on a Dell d600 Laptop. It has a TrueMobile 1300 (Broadcom) wireless card in it.
I've successfully installed ndiswrapper as well as the driver (thanks to many of the previous posts on this forum); however, whenever I attempt to start the network, I cannot get an IP address.
iwconfig recognizes my card and system-network-config recognizes the driver.
I've have tried various configurations and googles n-times reading various accounts on how to fix this problem. I've dealt with iwconfig until I am absolutely sick of the software - I have set my key, my channel, and my essid so many times I'll be thinking about it in my sleep.
I have no idea what else there is left for me to do.
I have Truemobile 1400 and had the same problem on FC2 and FC3, was not able to get IP address. I have FC4 and will try to get my wireless working with ndiswrapper soon. Can you please post what you did to make it work?
Unfortunately, I've experienced a few more problems since last night. I was able to access the internet last night but now I can only ping addresses within my LAN..
Still reading up on stuff online =/
I'll post information as soon as I am solid I've got this working.
As for last night, once I setup my card via ndiswrapper, I..
service network stop
service NetworkManager start
then, from my username - NOT root - i ran NetworkManagerInfo and it connected to my LAN.
