I run Fedora 15 on this older laptop. Normally works fine. After a recent update, I now get white noise, starting before login, and continuing. The only way to stop it is to mute the system.
Any ideas what is causing this? And how to stop it?
I booted this morning with the oldest kernel I have,
uname -a
Linux fangshan 2.6.41.9-1.fc15.i686 #1 SMP Fri Jan 13 16:43:37 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
