My sendmail process hangs on boot up

Working in FC2 with sendmail v8.12.11-4.6, the daemon hangs on
boot up.

My '/etc/hosts' file:
--------------- localhost pc02 pc02

My '/etc/sysconfig/network' file:

If I do:
# ping pc02
it resolves properly, so... what am I doing wrong?

Thank you very much.

My guess is that " pc02" from your host file is borking things. Remove that line and then try it.

Or remove pc02 from the line. Whichever you want it to resolve to, remove the other one. It can't be both.
