my first fc5 install ..


hi ..

i just upgraded from fc4 to fc5

it looks more powerfull that the forth edition ..
but i noticed something that realy annoying me ..

there was an option in fc4 right click mouse that can open a terminal window ..


well there is no more at fc5 !!! why ! it's alot usefull

any way to set a choice that can open a terminal from the right click ?

add a shortcut to desktop not the same i know

The file to create that I beleive is /usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/konsolehere.desktop

It comes from the package of kdebase*.rpm. Which version of KDE are you running?
You extract that files from the old kdebase*.rpm from your fc4 install disk and place there in above location. But first check to see if it there for me.

am using gnome enviroment ..


this fc5 needs alot of work i think !

kernel bugs /nvidia drivers

i donut know ..maybe i will be back to fc4 ..

Don't use gnome much just have the gnome libriares installed to run the needed apps.

The SELinux proprietary video card problem has been fixed in April. The SELinux policy developers applied textrel_shlib_t to the NVidia driver library files.

well

i use gnome desktop along time ago //from redhat 8 and later //
and install kde libraries just for programs ..


i will try to disable selinux ..coz iinstalled kernel 2.6.16 and couldn't make nvidia driver installed ! so i guess it's an selinux issue
