Hey all. Just wanted to say first that this forum has been helpful with everything i've figured out so far. I've spent alot of time reading through the posts here. And with everyone's answers I've figured out pretty much everything i need to except one little thing that's probably the simple thing to figure out.
I can't play music. haha, The audio works fine. I can play audio off websites as the music on myspace plays fine. But, I can't play a mp3, avi, mpeg.. anything to that matter. I downloaded and updated xmms, glib, xine, all with the yum command. I've downloaded and used the little fedora frog thing. But, what happens is when i try to add a song to the playlist on xmms, it will not show up. When i try to play it with Noatun, just opens up with the song stopped and wont play. Will not play videos or anything.
Any input on this will be greatly appreciated, i'll stop being stubborn and see if i can get help from any of you guys =P

Welcome to LQ!
What distro are you using? If you add this to your profile, it makes it easier for us to help you.
From your post, you seem to be using Fedora. The Fedora project made the decision not to allow certain proprietry media formats by default, due to patent issues. It is easy to enable to add support for these formats, see This Page for instructions, or search Google for more.
