Angry mp3 annoyances with FC2

Ever since I installed FC2, the mp3-support is causing me an headache.
When I wanted to copy part of my mp3-collection to cdrom with k3b, mp3-support again lacked.
So, I found a package "k3b-mp3" with yum and installed it.
I thought: ok now, here we go!
Nope, it showed up to be mpeg 1 layer III..... no burning of mp3s possible with that package.
Out of frustration I removed k3b completely, but that does not solve my problem.
Anyone having experience in this field?

best regards,

MP3 is an acronym for MPEG-1 audio layer 3.

Did you try installing from a different source?

Thanks for your advice, but I had tried those already.
However this provides mp3 support for encoding and decoding, but not for burning.
That is the greatest annoyance...
