Mozilla Firefox doesnīt find web sites

I am writing from Windows, as I cannot get any web site from Fedora, linuxquestions.org included.

Everytime I put an address in Mozilla Firefox (for instance http://www.google.com/) it appears a window: "Could not find www.google.com. Please check the name and try again". Yesterday it worked fine, but today...

What can I do?

Saludos.

Sounds like a DNS resolution problem. How do you connect to the net? Can you ping outside ip addresses?

OK, sure, but is it a static IP, do you use DHCP? What does /etc/resolv.conf say?
Do other browsers fail or just firefox?

It is a static IP. I wrote the address and DNSs when I installed FC4. I donīt know if the DHCP is used.

/etc/resolv.conf says: "; guaranted by NetworkManager, do not edit!"

I have not installed another browsers, but aMSN or Evolution donīt get the conection.

If it can serve, I am now writing from the Windows XP installed in the same HD of the same computer as FC4.

Saludos.

What is NetworkManager? If you have a static IP then you should have the nameservers provided by your ISP in this file, as in:
Code:
nameserver 192.168.0.100
nameserver 192.168.0.102

I am writing from FC4. The problem has been fixed. I tranlate from spanish:

In Gnome

Desk --> System configuration --> Net --> Net configuration
In DNS I have written the primary and secondary DNS.
Devices --> (eth0) Modify --> Activate device when computer starts - Configurate IP adresses statically. I have filled the three boxes.

Desk --> Servers configuration --> Services
I have marked NetworkManager for execution and saved the file.

Now in /etc/resolv.conf you can read:
"; generated by NetworkManager, do not edit!

; Use a local caching nameserver controlled by NetworkManager

nameserver 127.0.0.1"

If I unmark NetworkManager, the problem rises again.

Now all is OK, but I never had touched before all these values.

Problem fixed!

Thanks.
