mounting ntfs drive with NVRaid

hello,

I have found lots of info on mounting ntfs drives and have done it successfully with my other systems not running RAID, but i seem to have run into a snag with my current system. I am running nvidia raid/fakeraid 0. Fedora 8 and i have ntfs-3g installed.

Here is my fdisk:

Code:
fdisk -l /dev/mapper/nvidia_ahdjiajc

Disk /dev/mapper/nvidia_ahdjiajc: 329.3 GB, 329392979968 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 40046 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0xdc7bdc7b

                      Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/mapper/nvidia_ahdjiajc1   *           1       15298   122881153+   7  HPFS/NTFS
/dev/mapper/nvidia_ahdjiajc2           15299       21672    51199155    7  HPFS/NTFS
/dev/mapper/nvidia_ahdjiajc3           21673       21687      120487+  83  Linux
/dev/mapper/nvidia_ahdjiajc4           21688       40046   147468667+   f  W95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/mapper/nvidia_ahdjiajc5           21688       21940     2032191   82  Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/mapper/nvidia_ahdjiajc6           21941       28314    51199123+  83  Linux
And here is my fstab:

Code:
LABEL=/                 /                       ext3    defaults        1 1
LABEL=/boot             /boot                   ext3    defaults        1 2
tmpfs                   /dev/shm                tmpfs   defaults        0 0
devpts                  /dev/pts                devpts  gid=5,mode=620  0 0
sysfs                   /sys                    sysfs   defaults        0 0
proc                    /proc                   proc    defaults        0 0
LABEL=SWAP-nvidia_ahd   swap                    swap    defaults        0 0
/dev/mapper/nvidia_ahdjiajc1    /media/winc    ntfs-3g auto,users,umask=000,rw     0 0
/dev/mapper/nvidia_ahdjiajc2    /media/wind    ntfs-3g auto,users,umask=000,rw     0 0
Now when i mount:
Code:
[root@insane ~]# mount /dev/mapper/nvidia_ahdjiajc1
Failed to access '/dev/mapper/nvidia_ahdjiajc1': No such file or directory
Same goes for 2nd partition. Any ideas? Also not sure if my umask setting is right and really not sure what it does. LOL My goal is to mount at boot my windows c and d partitions so that any user can write to them.

Thanks in advance

OK,

I got it figured out.

I ran blkid and found that my partitions had labels.

So i changed my /etc/fstab to use the label method.

Code:
[chris@insane ~]$ cat /etc/fstab
LABEL=/                 /                       ext3    defaults        1 1
LABEL=/boot             /boot                   ext3    defaults        1 2
tmpfs                   /dev/shm                tmpfs   defaults        0 0
devpts                  /dev/pts                devpts  gid=5,mode=620  0 0
sysfs                   /sys                    sysfs   defaults        0 0
proc                    /proc                   proc    defaults        0 0
LABEL=SWAP-nvidia_ahd   swap                    swap    defaults        0 0
LABEL=os              /media/winc             ntfs-3g auto,users,umask=000,rw     0 0
LABEL=data            /media/wind             ntfs-3g auto,users,umask=000,rw     0 0
So now my only question is:

Do I use umask=000 or umask=0000 and what does this really do b/c i didn't really understand the documentation in regards to how this affects NTFS file systems.

Hope this helps someone else out.

Thanks
