Sorry no it does not help. the file is on your Windows partition and can be transfered to CD/DVD media without the use of "rescue mode". It is small enough to fit on a floppy if this is the same boot.lnx file that I'm thinking about.
If you are speaking of the Windows 'rescue mode' then, no I do not know of a way. But I do know a way using two CD/DVD drives one a writable booting into rescue mode with the Red Hat family.
