Mounting audio CD's in FC3
Has anyone been able to mount audio CD's in FC3?
CDFS is too old dosn't work with newer kernels over 2.3. And AudioFS is aslo too old hasn't been updated since kernel 2.2. Any workarounds or suggestions? |
you don't mount audio CD, put it in the tray and open it with
whatever media player you want..........noatumn, kaboodle, etc |
That dosen't work, otherwise I wouldn't be asking.
I get a "can't read superblock " error or somthing simular. I was told to download and install 'CDFS' and 'AudioFS'. But like I said they are too old, and don't work with newer kernels. So.....maybe i should have asked-How do you play audio CD's in FC3, becuase just putting in the CD and opening xmms isn't working. |
It's simple to play CD's on Fedora Core, just make sure your CD player app knows which drive to use and give yourself read permissions to that drive or put yourself in the audio and cdrom groups (disk group on some systems).

b stands for "block device", meaning that it it's a hardware device from and to which data is transferred in blocks on more than 1 byte. Another type is the "character device" from and to which data is transferred in blocks of 1 byte.
