And here's the only new entry in the log file:

...which is in the log file frequently, even for successful media requests.

Any ideas of how best to fix/debug this?

I think the "no session-key found" message is a red herring.

I'll look at MiLB when I get a chance. I'm pretty absorbed in a new project right now.

I can't reproduce the ipid issue. Can you tell me a specific game (date and game) you are having this trouble with? Also, if your MiLB user/pass is different from your MLB user/pass, you can use milb_user= and milb_pass= for this.

Huh. One example of a game I get the error for is the 4/5/2014 6:05 IronPigs - Red Sox game; though like I say I get it for every game I've tried.

I don't think my login is different since I just ticked the box to add MiLB onto my usual MLB subscription. But maybe I should try the official interface and make sure it works there first, maybe I need to activate it or something...

Ah, and that was literally and precisely what I needed to do. Guess I missed the link buried at the bottom of my MLB subscription email. I can now watch the 2016 Chicago Cubs in all their glory!

Thanks for checking, I might have spent hours debugging if I didn't know it was likely to be something so stupid...

I am a nooby to this, but am a baseball fan and a mlbtv premium subscriber. I have a frustrating time trying to follow installation instructions that appear simple to others but sadly not to me. I have done the following so far:

Terminal: sudo apt-get install*build-essential python2.7 subversion*rtmpdump*mplayer2

Termlnal: svn checkout svn://svn.code.sf.net/p/mlbviewer/code/trunk mlbviewer-2013

Terminal: /mlbviewer-2013 $ python mlbviewer.py
Missing dependency: python-gdata required for mlbclassics

I do not know what this means. I am sure I have missed installing something.

I am using Linux Mint Maya 13 which I am led to understand is based on Ubuntu. I have Mplayer 2 installed.

I have been to most of the websites and read and reread but am at a loss trying to understand the directions. Is there any link to get a step by step instruction for a Debian installation. Thank you and to Daftcat. all the work you have put into this amazes me.

Also, youtube-dl is required for mlbclassics.py and not mentioned in the docs . That should also be easily found in you apt or searching Google.

I considered compartmentalizing the import statements in mlbclassics to prevent it from breaking everything else (e.g. keep the requirements for mlbviewer.py itself to a minimum), but I think it's probably easier to just go through all the pain up front rather than encountering more dependency errors later.

SVN revision 594: career stats accessible from box score

I have been wanting this one for awhile.

From box score (x key), highlight a batter or pitcher and press Enter to see that player's career stats. Press Enter again to return to the box score.

I will eventually (maybe even today) add team batting and team pitching stats if you highlight the appropriate header (e.g. "New York Yankees Batting" or "New York Yankees Pitching".)

mlbstats.py is still the best script for all kinds of queries like viewing the 1952 New York Yankees hitting stats or finding all-time hit rankings or active hits leaders, or many more views.

But for simply viewing a player's and team's season totals, extending box score to include the correct mlbstats queries seemed like a no-brainer. I just had to add extra fields to the lines that make up the box score so the main loop would know which lines are "clickable".

You're missing dependencies for mlbhls.

See this page: https://sourceforge.net/p/mlbviewer/wiki/INSTALL/

Not going to get very far with mlbviewer until you have rtmpdump and mlbhls installed.

However, this is an easy one. "." (e.g. the current directory) is not in your application PATH. Thus, you have to do either:

./mlbviewer.py

or

python mlbviewer.py

SVN revision 595: stats "clickthrough" from box score (team support added)

Now in box score ('x' key by default),

Code:
Kansas City Batting ............... AB R H RBI BB SO LOB AVG
Aoki RF ........................... 3 1 2 0 0 1 0 .316
Infante 2B ........................ 2 0 1 0 1 0 1 .348
Hosmer 1B ......................... 3 0 1 1 0 0 3 .286
Butler, B DH ...................... 3 0 0 0 0 0 3 .211
Gordon, A LF ...................... 3 0 1 0 0 0 2 .273
Perez, S C ........................ 2 0 1 0 1 0 0 .444
Moustakas 3B ...................... 2 0 0 0 1 2 2 .000
Cain, L CF ........................ 2 0 0 0 0 1 2 .300
Escobar, A SS ..................... 2 0 0 0 0 0 2 .053
Totals ............................ 22 1 6 1 3 4 15 .247
Highlight the team header line (e.g. Kansas City Batting or Pitching) and press Enter to get current season team statistics. Select the batting line for team hitting statistics. Select the pitching line for team pitching statistics.

Highlight a player line and press Enter to get career statistics for that player.

Press Enter again from either statistics view to return to the box score.

This is a huge improvement to the box score functionality but it's also just scratching the surface of what mlbstats.py can do. Because we're already running short on keybindings for mlbviewer, mlbviewer won't get the full query and sort functionality that mlbstats supports.

Have you tried the command 'python mlbviewer.py', rather than mlbviewer.py?
