Top plays and condensed games seem not to be working for the Sox game last night. Choosing condensed game launches the player without any additional arguments and pressing "t" gives this:

Code:
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/local/bin/mlbviewer.py", line 1526, in <module>
    curses.wrapper(mainloop, mycfg.data)
  File "/usr/lib/python2.6/curses/wrapper.py", line 44, in wrapper
    return func(stdscr, *args, **kwds)
  File "/usr/local/bin/mlbviewer.py", line 483, in mainloop
    available = mysched.getTopPlays(GAMEID)
  File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/MLBviewer/mlbtv.py", line 843, in getTopPlays
    return self.getXmlTopPlays(gameid)
  File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/MLBviewer/mlbtv.py", line 827, in getXmlTopPlays
    speed = int(re.search(speed_pat,scenario).groups()[0])
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'groups'
Did MLB mess with the tables?

Thanks! But now I get this:
Quote:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "mlbviewer.py", line 1526, in <module>
curses.wrapper(mainloop, mycfg.data)
File "/usr/lib/python2.6/curses/wrapper.py", line 44, in wrapper
return func(stdscr, *args, **kwds)
File "mlbviewer.py", line 1218, in mainloop
u = g.soapurl()
File "/home/rob/mlbviewer/MLBviewer/mlbtv.py", line 1245, in soapurl
self.workflow()
File "/home/rob/mlbviewer/MLBviewer/mlbtv.py", line 1107, in workflow
self.login()
File "/home/rob/mlbviewer/MLBviewer/mlbtv.py", line 1085, in login
raise MLBAuthError, self.error_str
MLBviewer.mlbtv.MLBAuthError: Login was unsuccessful.
Does this mean I need to change the values on the lines indicated in mlbtv.py?

I think I have that last issue solved, but now I'm getting this from last nights yankees/redsox game:
Quote:

curses.wrapper(mainloop, mycfg.data)
File "/usr/lib/python2.6/curses/wrapper.py", line 44, in wrapper

File "mlbviewer.py", line 1218, in mainloop
u = g.soapurl()
File "/home/rob/mlbviewer/MLBviewer/mlbtv.py", line 1334, in soapurl
return self.nexdef_url(game_url)
File "/home/rob/mlbviewer/MLBviewer/mlbtv.py", line 1356, in nexdef_url
raise Exception,self.error_str

NexDef isn't available yet. Turn it off with the "n" key.

That looks right, except it looks like you didn't define a "video_player" command in your config file.

It says mplayer-
Quote:
show_player_command=0

live_from_start=0

favorite_color=cyan

speed=800

video_follow=

video_player=mplayer -cache 2048 -really-quiet

show_inning_frames=1

x_display=

audio_player=mplayer -cache 64 -really-quiet

flash_browser=firefox %s

max_bps=800000

bg_color=xterm

coverage=home

strict_stream=1

audio_follow=

top_plays_player=

favorite=

use_color=0

use_nexdef=1

debug=0

time_offset=

blackout=
But when I try to watch I get
Quote:
Buffering stream/bin/sh: rtmpdump: not found
mplayer: could not connect to socket
mplayer: No such file or directory
And if I remember correctly, I always got that last year but was never a problem.

Interesting. You do have rtmpdump installed, right?

yes! and I've tried it in my home directory and my mlb directory with the same results. Where does it actually belong? Incidentally, sourceforge no longer has rtmpdump so I retrieved it from launchpad.

I installed (make) the newest rtmpdump then moved it usr/local/bin.

mplayer installation is outlined in the "Requirements-2009.txt" in the mlbviewer svn folder. make sure you have done it like that

good luck!

I'm compiling the mplayer as noted.
Since my rtmpdump is version1.6 and the patch is for 1.5 should I remove the patch?

install rtmpdump 2.2 from here:
http://rtmpdump.mplayerhq.hu/

it doesn't need any patching... just 'make' and then move it usr/local/bin
