Mixing repositories on Fedora 8

So, about to install a Fedora machine for the fist time in a while. If memory serves me right, it used to be some issues with mixing the various repositories.
I do understand that there have been some changes. Are there any repositories there are any issues with if they are mixed? If I recall correctly the where the Livna repository and some others.
What is the status regarding this?

There are some yum tools you want to install. yum-protectbase is the main one. yum-protect-packages is another. I would still be careful (especially around atrpms).

I run the fedora repos and livna on my main box. The only thing missing is mythtv. But then I have a separate computer dedicated to mythtv which runs the fedora repos and atrpms.

livna and atrpms still don't mix well.
