rpmbuild is part or rpm, so you should have it installed already.

@redazz,
it seems that rpmbuild is a part of rpm-build packet.

$rpm -qf /usr/bin/rpmbuild
rpm-build-4.3.2-21

maybe he didnt install that packet.

@tommyliu
try following command, while u have root rights.
yum install rpm-build

Mmm, interesting, I always assumed rpmbuild was part of the main rpm package. Maybe it's coz I always intall the developer tools during initial installation

i thought so till yesterday
i couldnt find rpmbuild on centos 3.4 yesterday, but it had rpm binary.(centos is a RHEL based distro, actually same as RHEL exept redhat logo). then i checked that file on fedora 3 and understood that rpmbuild part of another packet.

edit: sorry. i did a typo error on your nickname in my previous post.

good luck.

Well, you learn something everyday like they say. I like the design of your website, simple but effective.

It is built from the freely available parts of RHEL, from source RPM packages. But that doesn't make it the "same as RHEL".
