loud sound occurs when exiting pages or windows that have sound playing already
 

This occurs on the most recent OpenSuSE too, whenever a window that has sound is closed the sound makes a last second huge noise.

I think it's a problem with PulseAudio, which a lot of the mainstream distros are now using, including Fedora I believe. I don't know how to fix it though.
