Smile lost trash icon in KDE, Fedora 4

This is a kind of unusual problem. I have lost my trash icon in KDE. I logged into KDE did some work and logged out. When I returned later in the day I found that the trash icon was missing on the desktop. Does anyone have any idea how I can restablish this icon? The Gnome side does not appear to have this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Frank
