Lost permission on folder-how to remove it


helllo

does anyone know how to remove the folder that lost permisson..? iam using fedora core 6. i captured the screen than can be seen from link above.

You lost more than just permissions (several things affected).

did you try "rm -rf foldername"? (This forces deletion of the folder and the contents.

More generally, you can try using "mv" to put the problem item into another folder ("mkdir" to make a new empty folder)---then delete the whole thing.

i did already, it didnt work and said "permission denied" iam root and of course permission denied because the permission is missing and no permisson for root to delete that folder. iam really sure the folder is empty because i use that folder for mount point only

Wow, what a weird problem. I'm curious, what do you get when you do a ls -i? Have you tried assigning permissions to the file using chown? I noticed in your screen shot the file doesn't have a date/time stamp or file size... did the computer crash or something before you noticed the problem? What file system do you have? Have you tried running fsck on the partition?
