Since Fedora is a test distribution of Red Hat, do an online search for 'securing Red Hat' which will give you numerous sites, many at the Red Hat site.

You mention disabling unneeded services....but only YOU can tell anyone what those would be. If you need to print, you obviously need CUPS or a printer service, and if you don't, that would be unneeded. Same for anything else; only you are going to have that answer. Past that, you need to think about what you're trying to accomplish. If you have a laptop, and want it to be more secure on the Internet, that's far different than an in-place server, behind a firewall/DMZ on a monitored corporate network. Security is a process; there are no guides, past anything basic. Tip guides are abundant: https://www.tecmint.com/linux-server...security-tips/ https://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/linux-security.html ..but again, they're guides, and shouldn't be taken as ALL you need to do. |
