Logitech Trackball Problem

I use an 'A/B/C' switch to share my display, keyboard and mouse between several systems. When I switch to my linux box my mouse quits working (I'm in X at the time). In order to get it working again I have to logoff. This problem showed up with the previous release of rh9. Prior to that release I never had a problem, the system acted as if I never switched to another system. I have the trackball configured as a generic two-button scrolling mouse, which works just fine otherwise. Has anyone run into this an figured out what to do so that you don't have to logoff all of the time?

Thanks for any suggestions.

John.

As a follow-up....this problem went away with Fedora Core-2.
