a development

i tried installing it with linux noprobe and i get a message... no devices found, please select manually...
i do so only to be told that there are no device drivers for the hard drive...and a list of about 50 device drivers...
anyways i select one of them... and the installation starts.. with the appearance of the FEDORA CORE 4 screen and language selection et al
however... when it comes to partioning by disc drives..either manually or automatically.. the msg ... 'No drives.. An error has occured. No valid devices were found on which to create a new file system. Please check your hardware'
what do i do now

it was suggested to turn off acpi in my bios setting.. well it worked.. only to show an error message while partioning../
is it because FC4 that i have is not compatible with 64 bit..?
