Unhappy -lg2c not found???

I have a program written in C/C++ (few parts in Fortran) that I am trying to compile on my newly installed FC4 box. The compilation fails when it tries to compile the Fortran part, this is done with -lg2c option but it claims that it cannot find it. But I have installed f2c and compat-fc2-32. The program compiled without a problem on FC2 and FC3. Any ideas?

Kind Regards
