hi Larry Webb , this is one of the reasons i gave up on fedora on this 10 year old Dell

it is getting just too old for fedora to continue to support .

BUT

Arch and Cent 5.5 run just fine

I would like to go to an older version of fedora or suse but then I do not have the option modem support driver. I am going to give fedora 13, they are supposed to change the IO. Thanks for trying to help.

I took out the nvidia video card and using the onboard nvidia video. They are both 64 meg and yes I do know the difference (I do not game or video edit). I know there had to be a driver that I was missing.
