LCD Moniter is Dim

I just installed Fedora Core 1 on my Toshiba Tecra S1 1.4Ghz Centrino Laptop and i find that the LCD's brightness is too dim. How do i adjust the brightness of my monitor? Any help would be appreciated.

the program 'xgamma' which you run from command line can adjust brightness, gamma etc.
