KVM Virtual Machine CD CHANGE

Hi,

I am unable to change the CD in a KVM Windows VM. I was also not able to change the CD during a RHEL 4 installation. When I an prompted for the 2nd cd I disconnect and connect the 2nd iso. How do I overcome this issue. Every time it says unable to mount CDrom.

I think there is device contention between your host OS and your guest OS; in QEMU, you must input the explicit command to change the optical disc (or iso image) in the Qemu Monitor, which is accessible by pressing Ctrl-Alt-2. See the syntax here: http://bellard.org/qemu/qemu-doc.html#SEC12.
Since KVM is based hugely on QEMU, this may work for you too. Just don't forget to get back into your guest OS by pressing Ctrl-Alt-1 when you're done

Hey thanks,

I will check that today.

And by the way the quote is good.

"Even if free software were crap, it should still get our preference over the non-free crap secreted by IT corporations."
