If you fixed it please mark thread as SOLVED.

mickeyboa 06-26-2010 09:01 AM

no!! it is not SOLVED

mickeyboa 06-26-2010 09:41 AM

SOLVED now !!

I just stumble across this.

I plugged a Linksys WRT54GL into a 2Wire783 HomePortal1800Hw and plugged my computer into the Linksys and WaLa I have Internet.

Now what the "H" is with this Damn 2wire router ?

I have to have this 2Wire783 plugged in because it is connected to Phone line at AT&T .

Only assumption I could have made from your first post was that you had working network before you tried to set up bridge so you can use KVM. You should by now know how to ask help (provide as much info as possible, and thoroughly explain what you have and what you need.

If I am to assume again, I would say that you so far never had that PC/system connected to that 2Wire783 and that you had problems to establish LAN speed negotiation (10M/100M/Auto) so no packets were able to pass.

As for "SOLVED" look at my signature and mark this thread per instructions.

I had this computer working on the 2Wire before I installed KVM.

After installing KVM and making br0 I could not get it to connect on 2Wire, But then I put the Linksys WRT54GL on the 2WIRE and connected this computer to the Linksys and now I'm on the internet.

Does anyone have any Ideals ??, as to why this 2Wire router doesn't like my computer connected to it.

Only auto-negotiation or physical cable problems come to mind.
