KPPP under fc3

I upgraded fc2 to fc3. When I run KPPP, it dials out, and works great up to the point that the ISP sends "CONNECT." At that point, I get a disconnect. I haven't isolated whether the disconnect is coming from KPPP or the ISP.

I've tried checking the user name, password, protocols, and the things that seemed obvious. Does anyone have any ideas?

Is there an option in KPPP called 'stupid mode' ?. If so disable it, or alternatly try enabling it. If you can't find it in the options (sorry I don't use the app myself) try editing /etc/wvdial.conf and look for or add a line;

Stupid Mode = yes

or alternately

Stupid Mode = no

You will probably have to logout or reboot to see any change.

I also have edited /etc/wvdial.conf but I do not know how to terminate the connection. I use ctrc+c twice to exit from connection.

And there is a problem with my modem. Often I get message that modem not responding and after two/three repeatative trial I can connect. May you guide why this happen and how do I get rid of that message?

I do not understand, you've changed the problem. First you couldn't connect, now you can.

I am other member boss. I can connect and use it but do not know the other things I send for your kind attention, :)

I think I found the problem. For whatever reason, when I upgraded from FC2 to FC3, ppp does not appear to exist in the new system. Thus, when kppp has the exchange set up with the isp, and tries to transfer control to ppp, it dies because there is no ppp.

There are a couple of other oddities which make me believe either FC3 has some real problems, or I have a bad installation (or possibly both).

Thank you friend for your opinion. I also think so. I have to observe carefully in the forums if it is really so.

Have a read of my web page , kpppconfig
I recently spent nearly a week trying to figure out how to set up KPPP in Gnome , after I did , I decided to write it all down so that I have a record of it and I also put it on a web page so that others may benefit from it .

It's a first draft and not that flash , but all the info is there , there may some some things in there that may be helpful to you.

Comments about my effort are welcomed.
