Can you bout the previous kernel?
Have you tried using e2label on your partitions?
e2label /dev/hda for example?

I am getting kernel paninc while attepmting to boot F7.

I have used the live CD for a good bit now, and it has worked just fine. Then I installed it to my HD. I use openSuSE as my main distro, so I have the SuSE GRUB set to boot F7. I have not been able to boot it. It starts to boot, and runs through the startup stuff pretty quickly, then I get "kernel panic - attempting to kill init".

I have not changed kernel versions or done anything differently. I have multi-booted other linux distros along with SuSE and WinXP before, so I don't know what the problem is.

I would presume it's not GRUB, as the boot process does actually start. And, I don't imagine that the problem could be trying to run F7 in graphical mode, as I have used the live CD in graphical mode -- and various other distros in graphical mode.

Could the problem be with initrd? I have no idea whether the live CD can run without initrd. The reason I bring this up is that when I look in the /boot folder using the live CD, I don't see an initrd.img file.
