hi
i just had a bit of a system crash on fedora core 3 and now I keep getting kernel panic messages when i try to boot the system.
The last messages are:
EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode
switching to new root
enforcing mode requested but no policy loaded. Halting now
kernel panic - not syncing: attempting to kill init
Will i have to do a full reinstall or is there another way to recover the system?
When you get access w/ a recovery disk see if you can disable SELinux. I'm not an SELinux expert but based on the line that says "enforcing mode requested but no policy loaded" I would guess that is the problem. You can change this in the /etc/selinux/config file. I have my system set to SELINUX=disabled and SELINUXTYPE=targeted . The file is pretty self-documenting so you can hopefully figure that out. If that is not the problem then I don't know what else it would be. Good luck.
