Smile KDe FC6 64, printer keeps disabling itself

I am running KDE FC6 64 bit. I have a canon pixima printer connected by TCP and works well. The small problem we have is everynow and then it disables itself in the KDE/Configure Printers menu.

Under KDE I go Printing/Configure Printers, then enter root password. This the brings up the Printer Configuration Dialog. On the left hand side half way down it has a Title: State. This has 3 tick boxes Enabled, Accepting Jobs, Shared. These are all ticked.

Every couple of days a user will go to print and nothing happens. If you goto Printing/Configure Printers you will see no tick under State: Enabled. Clicking on the tick box for Enabled and Applying makes everything fine again.

I have no idea how this disables itself if only root can enable or disable it.

This has been happening for the last couple of months but have a chance to try and spend some time on the little annoyings things happening in my distro.

Look forward to any help you can give me on this.

Cheers

Gimmee

Quit doing this! It is far, far better to use any browser and type in the URL of; http://127.0.0.0:631

to reconfigure your printer.
