KDE 3.2 autologin

I have installed kde 3.2 and everything seems okay. Well only few hours doing it. But i cant get autologin to work. I have switched from gdm to use kdm and as root i have used control center to get autologin for my user account. I even checked kdmrc and it seems there is everything like should be. So is there something else which is keeping me not to autologin straight from the bootup.

I notice this also

Playing around, i figured out that even i choose password less login for my user account, i still had to give password in kdm. So this is some fedora issue??

yes, this is a Fedora issue. If you are interested in fixing the "no password" login problem, then you can look here for answers. Look specifically at post #13:
Code:
cd /etc/pam.d
(echo "auth sufficient pam_permit.so"; cat kde) > kde-np
Doing that fixed the problem for me.

Basically, the folks that built the KDE3.2 packages for Fedora didn't read all the changelogs (according to a KDE person).

I'm not so sure that it is just a fedora issue as I'm running SuSe 9.0 pro & can't seem to get the autologin or no password options to work under kde 3.2. To be fair though the autologin worked fine using kde 3.1.4, but the passwordless login didn't, & I haven't had time to really check everything yet since I've upgraded - mom wants her gnome games back in the kde menu & I'm working on that right now.
