when i go to a site that uses java (javascript looks fine) the window has the little jigsaw puzzle piece in it and it tells me

at the java website it says that the java plugin is included with the latest JRE, which i have installed, btw.
I have created a link with ln -s in both mozilla/plugins and mozilla-1.6/plugins and it still won't do anything. i'm lost and at your mercy.... please be merciful, lol

I had the same problem, but found that I had not really linked the Java plugin correctly - paid too much attention to the 'sample' that was on the Java site and not enough to where the plugins and java actually were in my system. With me, it helped to use the file browser to keep track while I was typing in the correct directories. Also, don't forget to delete the bad links before you try to link again.

i had it linked to .../jre-1.2.4_04 instead of ../jre-1.2.4_05
