I've gone and deleted my network-scripts.

Hi,

I keep having problems with networking on Fedora 13. I found that sometimes running this command:

Code:
rm /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-*
would sort it out, presumably by reverting some setting to the default. During one attempt to find a permanent solution, I got an error to do with this directory:

Code:
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/
I wasn't really paying attention at this point, so assuming that this was the same directory I deleted the ifcfg- files from before, I copy-pasted it and ran:

Code:
rm -f /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-*
So yeah, I'm using an Ubuntu live CD to post this.

Is there a way to recreate these files without reinstalling? (Or if you have /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-[wlan0, eth0 etc] could you post their contents here?)

Cheers,
Gus

It seems that you just have to reconfigure your network devices. This is what I've found:

http://openskill.info/infobox.php?ID=247

I think this files will just contain the interface configuration, so try reconfiguring your network.

Thanks for that, I will boot back into Fedora and try it out.

Update: I'm back online now, deleting and then creating the device wlan0 again (all from system-config-network) did the trick.

This is why we don't run as root all the time.
