Is there any Apache-Tomcat "connector" setup tutorial that addresses this scenario???

Hi All

I'm having trouble determining how to setup Tomcat 5.x to operate under Apache 2.x on the latest Fedora Core 4 distribution.

Each tutorial I've read assumes that tomcat5.x installation "home" falls under one folder... But, it does not appear to be so in this distribution....i.e., in my installation....

1. there is "/etc/tomcat5" - which contains...
[root@host tomcat5]# ls
Catalina jk2.properties~ server.xml~ web.xml
catalina.policy jk2.properties.ORIG server.xml.ORIG
catalina.properties server-minimal.xml tomcat5.conf
jk2.properties server.xml tomcat-users.xml
[root@host httpd]# lsInsert BOLD text
conf conf.d logs modules run

2. there is /var/lib/tomcat5 - which contains...
[root@host tomcat5]# ls
Catalina jk2.properties~ server.xml~ web.xml
catalina.policy jk2.properties.ORIG server.xml.ORIG
catalina.properties server-minimal.xml tomcat5.conf
jk2.properties server.xml tomcat-users.xml

3. there is /usr/share/tomcat5 - which contains...
[root@host tomcat5]# ls
bin common conf logs server shared temp webapps work

Also, with Apache, there is ...

1. /usr/lib/httpd - which contains...
[root@host httpd]# ls
modules

2. /etc/httpd - which contains...
[root@host httpd]# ls
conf conf.d logs modules run

QUESTION: Which one is considered the "tomcat5.x" installation "home"???
QUESTION: Which is considered the "apache2.x" installation "home"???

--- In any case - being a "newby" - it has become very confusing to piece together a configuration from any of the existing Apache-Tomcat setup tutorials I've found, thus far, as they all appear to assume an entirely different folder structure for tomcat5.x and apache2.x than I actually have on my machine...

Is there any Apache-Tomcat connector tutorial that addresses this scenario (i.e., new folder structure)???

Because of this [apparent different folder structure] issue, I'm having a difficult time translating - from the existing tutorials I've read - information like,
a. precise entries for "httpd.conf"...
b. precise entries for "mod-jk.conf"...
3. precise entries for "server.xml"... (-- also, my "server.xml" contains no "Context" tags, though, the author of one tutorial uses this tag as a reference to specify where one of his entries should go)
4. precise entries for "worker.properties"...
5. where to locate critical files like "mod_jk.so"....
etc...

Appreciate ANY help and direction with this.

Thanks!

from the ls command ump that you have posted following is where ur apache and tomcat homes are:

apache home is /etc/httpd
(There should be a file named httpd or apachectl in the run folder)

tomcat home is /usr/share/tomcat5
(there should be a file named catalina in bin folder)
