Is ProgeSoft a perfect Linux alternative to Autocad?
Hi all
I saw a site and downloaded also Linuxforcad from ProgeSoft.but i downloaded a beta version and it is not that stable.so can any one tell me is this tool the perfect alternative for autocad or do we have anymore. as i am using autocad 2005 and want to switch on to my cad to linux.
Hi all
i have recently downloaded progesoft,in one site they said it is the best alternative for autocad.i want an perfect alterntaive to autocad, does progesoft supports as they say. i am using linux and dont want to switch on to windows again.i am ready to purchase a license copy also.
The Progesoft app looks promising, but I only got it to run on Windows. On Linux with Wine the installation crashed repeatedly. I hope they will create a native app, since emulation sucks big time and is prone to many runtime errors.
To my knowledge there is no Autocad alternative yet viable for Linux. Apps like Qcad are too simplistic and apps like CYCAS have an alien interface for Autocad users.
CAD is definitely an area where Linux needs something like Autocad. Just about every application related to CAD for Linux is beta or way too complex (OpenCascade).
I have merged the 2 identical threads. Although they have different poster names, the language used and the question titles made a lot of people (me included) think that this was one person with 2 accounts. Regardless, the answers to both will be the same and it seems silly to keep 2 threads going.
