installing graphical


hi, when i first installed my core 2 i didnt install gnome or any of the graphical bits, is it possiable to now add there bits on using the installation cds or some other way. like an add remove packages bit, without having to totally rebuild my system again.

yes... find the packages on the CD and install them, or try to yum for them

i figgure it'll try and work out the dependencies for you... so i'd start with gnome, and if that doesn't get it up and running, you should have some error message to help you advance your situation...

Could you please post a sample on how I can get started with YUM to get X installed. I have yum installed already on RedHat ES 4.

How did you manage to install without X? It should just work when you type 'startx' at the command line, if you're booting in text mode at present.
