I have installed fc4 on my dell laptop, but the x-windows is behaving wierd. It does not come up automatically on startup. When i use "setup" to manually configure the monitor type and the screen resolution, i am able to start x-windows. But on the next reboot, it again fails to start, though the xorg.conf file remains unchanged.
System details:
Dell Inspiron 640M
Intel 945GM chipset
Intel Media Acclerator 950
Screen resolution: 1280x800

Please help me configure xwindows properly. If upgrading to fc5 or fc6 helps then i am ready to do that.

Can you post your /var/log/xorg.0.log file so we can see what errors X is reporting when it fails to start? If you haven't already done so, review the log file yourself. The messages there are usually fairly helpful.
