Have you installed a C compiler? gcc should be on your Fedora CD's. This thread (in which I was pretty useless) has some interesting stuff about installing the Nvidia drivers http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...025#post935025 Respect is due to LordMorgul

Oh btw, it is not a straight foward compilation for nvidia driver to work on FC2.. the main stumbling block will be the kernel stack problem.. the default FC2 kernel has it set at 4K and nvidia driver uses stack like crazy .. if you really and badly need to compile your own nvidia driver for your FC2, get the stock Linux kernel 2.6.6 (www.kernel.org), recompile with stack 4K option to NO .. and install the driver. Got mine to work that way ..

got the exact same problem, got gcc, installed everything for gcc just to try, still the same. Edited my /etc/ld.so.conf so it contained gcc-paths.
Still the same,
What could I have missed?

(upgraded from core 1 to core 2, everything worked fine, now i did a clean core 2 install and this happends)

Hope anyone reads this

Try this, using the name of the .run package you have dowloaded....

sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run --add-this-kernel
sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1-custom.run

The first command creates the second file, which you can then run. This will get around any compiler error and/or set it up for any newer kernels or custom kernels.

You must REDO the above any time you update the kernel.

Also, the newest package they have, 6106, will work with a 4k stack kernel, following the above steps.

thanks, but found the problem, when I installed, there was a fault on cd-1, but insted of aborting, it installed it with an error.
Strange, but downloaded the exact same gcc-files and reinstalled and it worked as a charm
