Install VIA UniChrome display driver for FC4

The VIA UniChrome driver <linux-fbdev-kernel-bin_20050527.tgz> (downloaded from <forums.viaarena.com>) is specially targetting to Fedora Core 4. However, its Readme instructions do not work, as I describe bellow.
-------
Here is Step1 (for linux kernel 2.6...., under Fedora Core 4):
Step1: Change to folder /usr/src/linux-2.6
# cd /usr/src/linux-2.6
where "linux-2.6" should be replaced with the exact name in user's setting.
-------
Matters concern the fact that no directory such as /usr/src/linux-2.6 exists after installing FC4. There exists /usr/src/redhat instead, with 5 empty subdirectories inside: /BUILD, /RPMS, /SOURCES, /SPECS and /SRPMS. So I tried to replace "/linux-2.6", from above, with each of the 6 variants, in turn. That is:
# cd /usr/src/redhat
# cd /usr/src/redhat/BUILD
# cd /usr/src/redhat/RPMS
# cd /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES
# cd /usr/src/redhat/SPECS
# cd /usr/src/redhat/SRPMS
-------
In each of the above variants I tried to continue according to driver's Readme
Step2: Configuring the kernel module
# make menuconfig
-------
The machine's answer was the same, no matter on the variant to try:
make: *** No rule to make target 'menuconfig'. Stop
-------
Could you please help me to put the right directory instead of /usr/src/linux-2.6
Grateful thanks!
