Well, I dont use Linux at all for gaming because windows is better. People tell me its not, don't lie to yourself. Ive gamed for years and I have had almost no crashes due to windows.
If you set up your system right, Windows is fine for games.

I didn't say it was better or worse. I feel it is better but, that is my opinion. We all have one and the differ. I just wish more companies would support gaming under linux. Who knows, maybe they will.
I have to say that I am pleased with Fedora Core, and like using it. There is plenty of advice here on the LQ forum, good books are out there on Fedora, and other websites are available with help if you need it.
Echo what Nick1104 said.
I used RH9 for about 2 months (my first Linux experience) and was pretty happy but had a few niggling issues with the sound mixer, xine etc.
Upgraded to FC1 and everything has worked perfectly from the get-go (except up2date but I have given up on that anyway lol)

I have had trouble using the GNOME versions in other distributions. Fedora 1 came with a fully apportioned set of GNOME stuff (all the games, all the editors and programming tools, ppp tools also). RH 9.0 did that , too. That is what really sold me.
Im also a huge fan of Fedora. Im using Core 2 at the moment. I think it looks excellent, it has the most up-to-date packages ive seen compared to other distros, and its GNOME oriented, and I love gnome
