HTTP and FTP server setup FC3

Hey im getting my fc3 machine to run an http and ftp server. I want to host a website and allow remote change by ftp (which isnt really a problem so far). My question deals with what i need to do to use my registered domain name (commentout.net) instead of my ip address. I was wondering if i actually have to run a DNS server as well, or is there an easier way to do it that wont confuse the hell out of me. Thanks everyone.

The easy thing to do is to contract for DNS service from a DNS service provider.

Here is a huge list of providers:

You most often hear about no-ip.com and dyndns.org. I have used dyndns.org for several years without complaint.

You just need to read up on the various services and see what you need. It sounds like you are looking for something like the Static DNS service offered by dyndns.org.

Im looking at dyndns.org, but it seems like it wants me to register a hostname (subdomain) at there domain (homedns.org). I want to use my own registered (GoDaddy.com) domain name, commentout.net, not a subdomain at another site.
