How to uninstall Gnome?

I can't remember what the base package for gnome is called but, along with libraries and so on, there will be a few of them. You could do this...

rpm -qa | grep -i gnome

Then, for each package returned, check what it is...

rpm -qi <rpm_package>

and check the dependencies...

rpm -q --whatrequires <rpm_package>

and then remove it...

rpm -e <rpm_package>

/usr/bin/system-config-packages and select Gnome, it will show you the packages installed. There seems no way that you can remove the standard packages other than using the rpm -e <packages> manually as above. Do you have apt-get installed? I haven't done this, but you may want to try out the remove option, it will do the reverse of install and hopefully it can find all the dependencies and remove them all too.
