If azureus is in /home, then all you need to do is delete the azureus directory and ~/.Azureus. If you start azureus from the command line, do you get any error messages when it hangs?

Have you configured your firewall to allow BT connections?

Start it from a terminal emulator like konsole so that you see error messages when the program crashes. This will give you some idea of whats going wrong. Post the messages here if you don't understand what they mean.

I am not sure what else could be causing this problem. You could send a poilte email to the devs or the azureus mailing list asking for help. Make sure you give detailed info regarding your problem.
