how to stop yum automatically updating the kernel ?
I want to keep using a 2.6.18 kernel from FC6 but yum update (GUI) would like to update the kernel to 2.6.20. I have to manually unselect the kernel update tick box. One day I'll forget to unselect it and I'll end up with the 2.6.20 kernel that I don't want.
Is there a way, perhaps in a yum conf file, to not allow a kernel update to be performed by automatically by yum ?
I prefer Mandriva urpmi as this does not automatically update the kernel. I'm new to yum and I'm struggling... I'm finding it difficult to locate good yum GUI tools.
Perhaps I'm using the wrong repositories ?
What is the difference between the updates and legacy-updates repositories ?
Thanks.
