How to reduce number of installing packages ?

Fedora 9 installs more than 800 packages by default. If I am planning to create lighweight installation, how am I able to reduce the number of packages?

I'm sure that you can customise it before the installation. AFAIK, it's 'customise now' or 'customise later'. Make sure that you install XFCE/Fluxbox, etc. If you want to have a
lightweight distro stay away from GNOME/KDE

The easiest is to install no selection except "base". Give or take a few that's aprox 550 packages worth of F10.
