How to get rid of or hide Redhat Notification Alert on taskbar?

That big red exclamation icon is getting annoying. Also since I don't use up2date, it's not important for me. How do I get rid of or hide it? Thanks.

rhn remove

Hi,
You will need to remove several packages to completely get rid of it, if my memory serves me right:
rhn-libs
rhn-applet
up2date
up2date-gnome
these are removed using the command:
rpm -e rhn-libs rhn-applet up2date up2date-gnome
cheers

You could right-click on the taskbar and remove the applet. It won't show up again until you open the RHN application again.
