What is the boot.lnx file? Is it the file created with the dd command to boot linux? Try hexedit. In a console window:
hexedit Boot.lnx

Ctrl-C to quit.

It's the boot file you need to duel boot from Windows XP and it is created by the dd command but the hexedit doesn't show me the real data.

Ok, the file can have any legal in windows name.(mine was ¨linux.hdr¨) It´s the one you use to boot Linux with ntldr and windows boot menu, right? It is usable with NT/2K/XP
assuming you match it in boot.ini. You´re using dd to copy the bootsector of a partition to a file, however dd doesn´t create it, it should be created by a Linux bootloader setup.

It´s a binary file and I doesn´t see any point in viewing it, but if you tell us what exactly means for you ¨showing real data¨ we may be able to help you. What do you wanna do with this file?

Thank you all for the responses. I know where the file comes from and what to use it for. I was just curious to the data in the file. And again I see responses that are not friendly. ( His Comment) It'a binary file and I don't see any point in viewing it, but if you tell us what exactly this means for you by showing real data we may be able to help you. What do you want to do with this file. Well if you don't want to answer a simple question then don't. (My Comment) This is not your discussion. For everybody else out there this response came from iZvi. And I want to thank you for your help.

Dude, your question is simple enough to not receive many useful answers. Additional comment is not needed. However I´m sorry if you found my response unfriendly. But someone will consider displaying the file with less to be viewing, so without providing enough information for what you mean with ¨viewing¨, you´re loosing our and mostly YOUR time.
Not to mention how friendly were your comments about me.
