"i want to know how to find the names fedora gives my drive (ex: hdd1 hdd hd0 so forth)"

The IDE drive names correspond to hardware addresses:
hda - first IDE port master
hdb - first IDE port slave
hdc - second IDE port master
hdd - second IDE port slave
hde - third IDE port master
hdf - third IDE port slave
and so on.

Then the partitions are designated by their number given in the partition table. hdd1 and hdd5 are partitions on hdd.

"but is there a command i can type to see which drives are labeled what"

You can find out what the partitions are called that you have mounted with a mount command:
mount

You can found out what partitions you have on a drive, whether mounted or not, with:

fdisk -l /dev/hdd
