How do I configure /etc/gdm/custom.conf in Fedora 9?
When I had Fedora 8 I used gdmsetup to configure my login screen. Eventually decided to upgrade my existing installation to Fedora 9, when I did so I noticed that gdmsetup was missing and later I found out that it is being redesigned for Gnome 2.22. So when I navigated to /etc/gdm I found custom.conf, a livna backup of custom.conf and custom.conf.rpmnew. The livna backup of custom.conf and the new custom.conf are identical; however, the the custom.conf.rpmnew is quite different. Here are both of the files:

/usr/sbin/gdmsetup as root when you are logged in?
Or - with some themes you can configure the login-screen right from there (from a menu at the login-screen) also: files location could be different or has changed between versions... - it is at: /etc/X11/gdm/ for me (gentoo) |
